What happens when DIY crafts meet craft beer? One of the coolest craft-craft mash-ups around, of course.

This summer, Crafts & Brew is bringing its building/sipping adventures to San Jose’s San Pedro Square Market & Bar for three-hour afternoon craft sessions. You can make string art, for example, or build your own 6-pack beer caddy, complete with bottle opener. Tickets — make sure you book ahead — are $35-$45, depending on the craft project, and include a glass of beer. Upcoming dates: July 13, Aug. 24 and Sept. 14. Find out more at www.craftsandbrew.com.

Looking for more? Given its slogan — “Drink Beer & Make Stuff” — it’s hardly surprising that San Francisco’s Workshop SF pops up at beer-related events, too, from SF Beer Week to Anchor Brewing’s holiday events at Anchor Public Taps. They paired holiday wreath-making classes with pints of Anchor’s Christmas Ale, of course. During the rest of the year, Workshop holds craft classes of all sorts  at its Upper Haight and Potrero Hill locations. Find details at www.workshopsf.org.
