Snow Globe Cookie Jar

While we love exchanging cookies around Christmas, why stop there? Use this wintery piece to house cookies in your kitchen or to pass out to friends throughout the colder months.

Step 1: Use a fine-tipped brush to paint small white dots on the outside of a glass jar.

Step 2: Fill bottom of jar with snowball cookies (for the recipe, click here). Place small plastic trinkets inside for a snow-globe-inspired vignette.

Step 3: Tie gift tag to jar with ribbon.

Pinecone Door Hanger

Browse your backyard for pinecones and use your foraged finds to make this warm and inviting piece for your front door.

Step 1: Cut eight two-foot-long pieces of ribbon.

Step 1: Use a hot glue gun to adhere the last two inches of each ribbon to the base of eight four- to six-inch pinecones.

Step 2: After the glue dries, collect all the ribbon ends and stagger them so that the cones fall at varying lengths. Tie the ribbon ends together in a knot, trim the tips so they are uniform, and slip the knot over a finishing nail.
